Lights, Camera, Strategy: How PR Powers the Red Carpet

Because behind every great red carpet moment, there’s a PR team making sure it all goes to plan

Red carpet events are more than just fashion moments and flashing cameras; they’re strategic visibility opportunities for both talent and the brands they represent. And while the spotlight is on the celebrity, the real magic is happening behind the scenes with the PR team.

We’re the first to arrive and the last to leave. From coordinating media slots to ensuring talent is camera ready and aligned on messaging, every second is planned and we make sure it all only looks effortless. That 15-second Reel on the red carpet? It’s the result of days, sometimes weeks, of planning, prep and management.

And no two events are ever the same.  You’re constantly adapting. Maybe the press lineup shifts at the last minute. Maybe the talent arrives late. Maybe the messaging changes just hours before go-time. The key? Anticipate, adapt, and stay calm under pressure – because the show must go on.

Pre-event prep starts long before talent arrives. We coordinate everything from talking points and media zone planning,  to styling and glam logistics It doesn’t end there. We manage the unexpected: a last minute lineup change, a sudden emotional shift from talent, or an  unexpected question from the press.

We also create tailored briefing documents outlining full event schedule, travel details, and key messaging and talking points about the title and campaign. Our team ensures each talent is media-trained and prepared for interviews in either English or Arabic, based on their preference. That includes researching past interviews, reviewing their social media, and understanding how they like to be represented. Based on the talent’s preferences, we coordinate flights, hotel accommodations, glam teams, and other details to support both their comfort and the brand’s relationship.

As a case study, we would like to look at Franklin. When we supported the launch of this title, we managed on-ground press and logistics for two lead cast members:  Daniella Rahme and Mohammed Al Ahmad.

Daniella is bilingual,  while Mohammed is more comfortable in Arabic, so we tailored the interview schedule accordingly. They were both interviewed by different tier 1 Arabic outlets including  Blinx, ET Bil Arabi, Sky News Arabia, Hia, CinematK, Sayidaty, Elena Al Sabbagh, The Rahals, and Amina Hussein. For Daniella individually, we secured two English Elle Arabia and Harper’s Bazaar Arabia

We also adapted their accommodation for relationship purposes.  Daniella preferred a spacious suite to prep with her glam team, while Mohammed was comfortable with a standard room. Not a minute to waste, we go through the briefing document as they get prepped for camera, and even between each set interview. Always on, we stand sharp behind the camera eyeing the talent’s appearance on-screen for any touch ups, adjusting camera angles if needed and tying any other loose ends.

Ultimately, our job isn’t just to escort talent through a press line. It’s to protect their image, guide the narrative, manage media questions, and keep everything running smoothly and on schedule.

When talent feels supported, it shows. The result? Stronger interviews, better photos, shareable social content, and more impactful, purpose-driven coverage.

Because at the end of it all, great PR is what connects it all, from behind the scenes.
